Wooden Train Set User Guide

Updated: Jul 17

1. Snapping

Enable snapping mode and set it to Snap To Increment. Under Affect, enable Move and Rotate. When you move an object, it will snap cleanly to the grid.

2. Move and rotate

Always rotate tracks around their pivot point. Use the arrow object to move track assemblies that contain multiple parts.

3. Duplicate train

To duplicate the train, select all train parts and press Shift‑D. Do not duplicate the Train collection, duplicating the collection prevents the train from starting correctly.

4. Animate Track switch

Select the switch and open Object Constraint Properties. Animate the Influence value from 1 → 0 to create the switching motion.

5. Fix weird simulation behavior

  • Avoid changing Rigid Body World or physics settings.

  • Check if a hidden track is blocking the path.

  • Check if a track inside a hidden collection is blocking the way.

  • Select any track and press Tab twice to enter and exit Edit Mode. This forces Blender to clear the previous cache and generate a new one.

  • Run the Clean Up Script in the Text Editor to remove “ghost objects.”
